My Story
Hello Everyone,
I’m excited to announce that I will be going to Seeds of Hope (SOH) in Nigeria as a missionary!

This has been a long time coming. God placed this calling on my heart quite a while ago. I was originally scheduled to go to Nigeria in late 2021 or early 2022 with Bamshak. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to cancel. When God says, “No, not now,” the answer is “No.” Through much prayer and listening, I now feel God saying, “Now is the time.” So, I’m stepping out in faith and following His call.

For those who may not know, Seeds of Hope seeks to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of displaced children by providing food, shelter, education, trauma counseling, vocational skills training, and discipleship/mentoring. Their mission is to equip these children for godly and fruitful lives.

While serving at SOH, I’ll be wearing many hats. I’ll be loving on those children and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with them. In addition, I’ll be performing social work-related duties. With over 30 years of experience as a social worker and case manager, I will be assisting with the children’s needs and acting as a social work liaison between SOH and the Nigerian government. There’s a lot to do, but these kids need a lot.

I would like to ask for your support in two ways: through your prayers and, if you feel led, financially. Bamshak shared that I could live reasonably well in Nigeria on $1,400 to $1,500 per month. My goal is to raise $14,000 to cover all expenses for the six months and to provide a little “wiggle room” for any unforeseen complications. After this initial six-month trip, I plan to return home and begin raising funds for a one- or two-year mission trip back to SOH.

I am so thankful that God has brought this opportunity to fruition and is orchestrating everything in His perfect way. It’s not just me going to SOH in Nigeria—you will be there with me through your prayers and support. Without you, this mission wouldn’t be possible.

Please prayerfully consider supporting this mission trip, whether through monthly contributions, a one-time donation, or in any way you feel led. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I love and appreciate you all.
In Christ,
Scott LaCombe
