Chebene came to Seeds of Hope Nigeria with his older brother, John, after their family faced severe hardship in their village. Their mother abandoned the boys as infants, leaving them in the care of their aunt. Their father is believed to have been killed during a Muslim attack on their community, leaving the children without parental support.

Although their aunt lovingly cared for them alongside her own children, the growing needs of the household became overwhelming. Seeking a stable future for Chebene, she reached out to Seeds of Hope Nigeria. Chebene was welcomed into the Safe House on December 20, 2021, where he is now being raised in a safe and supportive environment.
