Ritor lost her father during an attack on her community by Muslim Fulani herdsmen. Her widowed mother, who is caring for three other children, faced significant challenges providing for the family and sought support so Ritor could receive proper care and stability since her village is often attacked.

Ritor was welcomed into the Seeds of Hope Nigeria Safe House on December 21, 2021, where she is now growing in a safe and nurturing environment with access to education and daily care.
