Abigail was brought to Seeds of Hope Nigeria after the passing of her grandmother, who had been her primary caregiver. Abigail’s father suffers from mental illness and is unable to care for her, while her mother left her in the care of her grandmother as an infant and has not returned.

After her grandmother’s death, an elderly widow in the community temporarily cared for Abigail. However, after losing much during attacks in the village and having no stable income, she was unable to continue providing long-term care. Abigail was then welcomed into the Safe House on December 20th, 2021, where she now lives in a safe and loving environment.
